Maintenance Notes: Alocasia is a tropical evergreen. Alocasia requires fertilizer every 2-3 weeks throughout the growing season. They can be planted in pots (indoor or outdoor in summer months), bare root along the waters edge of a pond, or even in a pond. The crown of the plant should never be covered by water but can thrive in water as shallow as a few inches. The purpose is to keep the bulk of the soil or root mass wet. Keep out of strong winds as stalks can break if not planted in a sheltered location.
The root ball can be submerged but it isn't necessary.
